I have learned that by recognizing your customer in a friendly polite manner and letting them know if he or she needs help to let you know. There are some who love to have interaction in what ever conversation in common allows sales; even a kind suggestion of assiting if the person is local and needs that extra dollar to complete the sale. I gave a complete stranger two dollars to allow her perchase NS she returned within the week with flowers, water and my two dollars as well bought another hundred dollar item. Peopel who are buying are looking to be pampered to even if this means a smile and if I can help you and walking away---- and it is all about making the sale is it not and having them return that keeps the profits coming in. This also allows word of mouth about there experience in your business.

I have not started my business at this time as funding can only permit the beginings of this adventure. I have created a success on paper for textile art and have seen an individual make over fifty thousand in a weekend and although he was set up for two weeks I can not even imagine what he made. But I am sure he took a break after this event and is set up under the air conditioning with a beverage but will be right back out there saleing in another week. What are the links one can take to get funding when funding has been strapped because of distaste for working in the pubic sector, cancer, becoming a widow? People do it, but how do they do it when it takes other links to start your own success story? And although these comments have not been shared we all go through mid-life crisis or changes because we believe in what we do and who we are. I now wander how comments will help others in my same interest -- never fear to ask because someone else is wanting to ask as well.

I'm a small business owner and I have found it difficult to get my business out there for for people to see. Part of the reason is I don't have the guts to speak up much. I have read books and articles about standing up and being heard. I'm very interested in this.

My biggest problem is follow up. I will talk to someone about my business and even if they are interested I don't follow up with them to give them more information. Even if I write it down on my planner to call them in a few days I don't do it. I know I have lost a lot of potential clients because of this.

I would like to overcome my inability to say no. I can't seem to say no, and then I end up taking on too much at one time. I would like to learn how to keep people happy while not stretching myself too thin.

I tend to stay with business strategies that are not working for way too long! It's as if I can't admit a mistake. Instead I kind of freeze and deny the problem even to myself.
